Showcasing creativity and talent

ManamaShowcasing creations by some of the most talented designers from the Middle East, Oliveto, the Italian Restaurant in Adliya, has organised a Pop Up Shop in its premises last Saturday and Sunday.

The show, which celebrated homegrown talents, brought together designers of apparel, accessories, jewellery and house ware from the Middle East.  This, according to Oliveto owner Leila Al Habbal Abdulhadi, has helped transformed the venue into a charming rustic space.

“I want to embrace and empower designers from our side of the world. We have so much character, creativity and brilliance right here in the Arab World!,” she said, while commenting on the event.

The Local Pop Up Shop had its premier in April this year and then again just recently. The event focused on reaching out to local talents and inspiring them to engage and sell directly from the venue. This, according to Leila Al Habbal Abdulhadi, was realised with the fruitful efforts of Dalia Al Naji who was the graphic designer for the Oliveto branding.

Live music accompanied by Oliveto street-style food stands were also part of the show.

Explaining further, Abdulhadi said that she loves to promote and invest in “local” talents as she believes that these special creations originating from the Middle East have to be exposed, supported and cultivated.

“This is also the reason for Oliveto featuring a variety of local musicians to perform live on their terrace lately,” said  Restaurant Manager Leo Pesci.
