The Pride of Bahrain
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday hailed the dedicated efforts of the Gulf Interior ministers in maintaining security and stability.
HM the King was attending the conclusion of the GCC joint-security exercise, Arabian Gulf Security 1, which started on October 27 in Bahrain. Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa was present during the final ceremony.
Stressing the deep-rooted historic relations and strong bonds linking the GCC countries, HM the King expressed Bahrain’s pride in hosting the GCC joint-security exercise and similar drills which, he said, play a crucial role in strengthening relations, bolstering joint ties, upgrading competencies and exchanging expertise.
While addressing the military parade, Minister of Interior Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, also commander of the security drill, underscored the importance of the drill which, he said, contributes in bolstering GCC coordination.
“The joint drill consolidated confidence, bolstered the spirit of teamwork and highlighted the importance of security depth,” Shaikh Rashid said, stressing the need to project a unified response towards any attempt to subvert the security and stability of the GCC.
