Karting circuit : Karol and David dominate
Manama : Karol Basz and David Vidales Ajenjo were among the top performers last night in the Qualifying Heats of the CIK-FIA World Championship and CIK-FIA World Junior Championship, at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC).
Basz topped the times in Qualifying Heat A-D in the world championship. The session signaled the halfway mark of the seniors’ Qualifying Heats, which featured six sessions continuing into the night.
Basz of Kosmic Racing had a best lap of 50.549 seconds. Lorenzo Travisanutto of Tony Kart followed (+0.646) behind, while Pedro Hiltbrand of CRG was third (+0.956). Basz was also the leader in Qualifying Heat A-B, with a best lap of 50.465; while Hannes Janker of CRG was best in Qualifying Heat C-D (50.595).
In the Qualifying Heats of the CIK-FIA World Junior Championship, David Vidales Ajenjo of Tony Kart had the best time amongst the first half of Qualifying Heat sessions. Competing in the A-B group, Ajenjo registered a fastest lap of (52.227 seconds), Gianluca De Castro Petecof of CRG was behind him (+0.059) off the pace, and Ugo De Wilde of Kosmic followed (+0.295) in third.
