Successful trials for swimming track
Manama : Contestants participating in the up-coming Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship concluded successful trials in the water designated for the swimming leg of the championship.
The participants swam near Four Seasons Hotel in Bahrain Bay, scheduled for December 10, led by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The trials were organised by Boost bahrain company in co-operation with a Falyaat management firm. The swimming section is one of the three-stage.
Topping the men’s category was Mikel Calahorra, followed by Lawrence Salazar with Michael O’Driscoll third.
There was also a race for women with Ideal Alaquel bagging first place, followed by Kristy McKay and Katherine Rushton in third respectively.
In the U18 male category, Abdulrahman Mubarak took first place, Martin Harris and Jean-Baptiste Petit in second and third place respectively. The U18 female was won by Roma Vrijhof, followed by Fatima Al Mahameed.
