Importance of transparency highlighted
Manama : Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa stressed the importance of consolidating transparency, fairness and accountability while dealing with public funds.
The implementation of these principles is the best way to continue constructive interaction with the auditing authorities, the Interior Minister added.
Shaikh Rashid was speaking while chairing a meeting devoted to following up on the remarks mentioned in the annual report of the National Audit Office (NAO).
The Interior Minister thanked the NAO for its efforts to improve performance in all government sectors and achieve the required transparency for the sake of achieving public interests and upgrading the quality of services delivered to citizens.
