Importance of MICE industry hailed

Vienna : Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday received Dr. Jochen Köckler, member of the Managing Board of Deutsche Messe AG, at the UNIDO 50th anniversary 2016 Expo in the Austrian capital. 

During the meeting, the Crown Prince highlighted the important role played by the Meeting, Incentive, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry in advancing development across Bahrain. Prince Salman praised the sector’s significant contribution to the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the Kingdom and its international partners.

The Crown Prince emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to further expanding its MICE sector, adding that the Kingdom would continue to build on its strong track record in hosting world-class conferences.

Prince Salman spoke of ongoing efforts to develop opportunities for youth and women in Bahrain, adding that the exhibitions industry has helped develop entrepreneurial opportunities through the exchange of best practices and successful models.

The Crown Prince concluded by recognising the important role of the Hannover Messe international exhibition in promoting industrial advancement and the latest technological breakthroughs.
