Women’s group donates proceeds to Think Pink

ManamaThe Shahrazad Charity, a small group of Bahraini women supporting worthy causes to improve the quality of life of Bahraini people, have revealed that the proceeds of their annual Charity Bazaar will be donated to the Bahrain Breast Cancer Society through Think Pink initiative.

This year’s Bazaar, which is the 10th year of the Annual Charity Sale, will be held on November 26 from 9am to 7pm at the Shahrazad Hall, located behind Zait Zaytoon restaurant in Budaiya.

Visitors to the Bazaar can bag a bargain with loads of pre-loved books, furniture, toys, clothes, electronics, plants, household items and even antiques up for sale.

Commenting on the upcoming event, a charity spokesperson said: “We think this year is going to be one of the biggest yet and look forward to welcoming visitors. We are very pleased to donate the proceeds of the event to Think Pink in support of breast cancer awareness in Bahrain.”

The charity has raised more than BD60,000 over the last nine years, with all the proceeds going towards charitable causes in the Kingdom. Causes supported by Sharazad include purchasing medical equipment for Gaza (Palestine), providing support for children with cancer, various youth initiatives, and lending a hand to Bahraini families in need of purchasing air conditioners. It has also constructed a small building in order to teach disabled children gardening indoors at the Alrahma Centre.

Donations of pre-loved goods can still be made up until Friday between 9am and 12pm and 4pm to 7pm at the hall or by calling 39414194 or email shahrazadcharity@gmail.com. Tables can be rented in the hall for the day with rental proceeds going to charity, but the proceeds of the stall sales can be kept by the stall owner. Those interested can book a table to sell goods by calling 39710301.
