Preparations at full swing for Ironman 70.3

Manama : Preparations for the up-coming Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain on December 10 are at full-swing with the Organising Committee members actively working to ensure the event is a huge success.

A meeting previewed plans to the hosting of the event attended by Ahmed Al Hajj, the event manager; Abdullah Al Shamlan, Director of the local race; Nawaf Al Dhaen, marketing manager of championship; as well as other individuals.

They discussed the championship course which is a 1.9km swim in Bahrain Bay, 90km of cycling from the Four Seasons Hotel passing many historical places from Manama to BIC and concluding with a 21.1km run from BIC through Al Areen Wildlife Park and concluding back.

The Organising Committee have also launched a promotional campaign in cooperation with Batelco to spread awareness about the event through a SMS containing informative content on the event.

As a support to Ironman, Bahrain Road Runners in collaboration with the event management company will organise an Olympic Triathlon on December 9 at Durrat Marina, and will include a 1.5km cycling and a 10km race, with a large number of participants expected.

Advertisements in support of the event in cooperation with Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority will be aired on Bahrain T.V channels.
