Heavy rains trigger floods in Kingdom
Manama : Yesterday’s sudden showers have announced the beginning of this year’s winter season. However, along with the rains, the annual issue of rainwater drainage also resurfaced.
Many areas of the Kingdom were flooded, while some roads were completely blocked. Similar to the previous years, Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry affirmed that it is working in full swing to tackle the issue.
The Ministry affirmed yesterday that it received around 270 complaints related to flooding and around 65 water suction tankers were provided to clear any undrained rainwater.
Though many roads were restored within a short time, areas in Riffa, Manama and Budaiya witnessed heavy flooding at the time of publication.
Unstable weather is expected to continue for the next couple of days, according to the Meteorological Department.
