Favourite Potentate bags the richest race

Manama : Second favourite Potentate owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained by Allan Smith and ridden by Abdulla Faisal won the eighth and richest race yesterday for the Ali Venture Cup for imported 3 years and upwardsover 2,000 metres and worth BD3,000 in the fourth race meeting of the season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.

In second place was pre-race favourite Barreesh owned by Ramadhan Stable, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and ridden by Jimmy Quinn, with Fadhaa owned by Al Malali Syndicate, trained by A Jalil Al Mallah and ridden by Robert Khathi third place and Pressure Point owned by Shaikh Nader bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, trained by Allan Smith and ridden by Brett Doyle fourth place.

The races were held through light drizzle at times with a backdrop of grey skies and attended by Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club vice chairman HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
