Pump vandalised in Jidhafs
Manama : The Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry revealed that a rainwater suction pump placed in Jidhafs housing project was vandalised by unidentified individuals.
“Miscreants cut the suction pipe of a pump installed in the site to drain rainwater. It was vandalised using a sharp object, allowing the water to reach the public park and roads of the project. However, the technical teams have fixed the damaged pipe and removed water from the site,” the ministry explained.
Footages of housing projects, including newly constructed ones, witnessing flooding were repeatedly posted online by netizens. The authorities reaffirmed multiple times that it is working round the clock to contain the issue and ensure that all public areas are dry.
