Endurance team adds new glory

Manama : The Bahrain Royal Endurance Team, led by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa,  representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Captain of the Team, has added a new glory to their fairy-tale journey after winning the Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Sport Creativity Award as the Best Arab Team. 

Receiving such a prestigious honour follows the team’s victory in the World Youth Endurance Championships, held in Chile in the year 2015.

Shaikh Nasser affirmed that receiving this very high-status honour for the team wouldn’t have been possible without the support extended to the sporting movement in the Kingdom by the leadership, as well as backing Bahraini jockeys during their participation in all competitions in order to lift their spirit and motivate them.

“I am very much honoured and proud to receive such a highly esteemed award which holds the name of a person very close to everyone’s heart in the capacity of HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai who has been always keen to recognise creativity, innovation and excellence across all sectors, especially in the area of sports,” said Shaikh Nasser.
