PM vows support for banking sector

ManamaThe government will continue adopting economic strategies that will pave the way for financial and banking firms to expand their operations in the Kingdom, said Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The Prime Minister also underlined the government’s aim to transform the financial and banking sectors into the main engines of economic activities in the Kingdom by providing a suitable investment atmosphere.

The statements were made while Prince Khalifa was receiving Al Ahli United Bank’s board chairman Hamad Mishari Al Humaidhi and members at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.

The Premier praised the role played by the Al Ahli United Bank, being a prestigious financial institution with a good regional and global reputation, that has achieved great successes despite the prevailing economic conditions.

Al Ahli United Bank’s achievements and effective participation in the financial activities, as well as in the training of Bahraini competencies were also highlighted.

Meanwhile, the board chairman and other members briefed the Prime Minister on the Al Ahli United Bank’s current and future plans.

Prince Khalifa hailed the bank’s plans to expand its operations in the Kingdom, which, he said, reflects its confidence in the stimulating economic and investment atmosphere the government has provided for the financial and banking institutions operating in Bahrain.

The Al Ahli United Bank’s board chairman the government, led by HRH Prince Khalifa, for its support to the financial institutions operating in Bahrain, highlighting the facilities and stimulating environment that attract capitals.

He lauded the role played by the Prime Minister in establishing a robust financial and banking sector in the Kingdom that has a strong and distinguished position across the Gulf region.
