Child molestation case adjourned until December 14

ManamaThe case of a child molester, who kidnapped an Asian toddler in Hoora last August, has been adjourned until December 14.

As reported earlier and according to court files, the child kidnapper reportedly molested the girl.

The man, who is in his thirties, had abducted the child from her mother’s car near a cold-store shop in Hoora when she was left unattended for less than a minute.

The defendant was traced by police officers using public CCTV cameras, and was eventually arrested, following which the whereabouts of the child came to light.

The defendant reportedly caressed the private parts of the child as he asked her to take her clothes off under the pretext that he would massage her body. The statements of the case showed that he had asked her to sit on the front seat of the car and inserted his hand inside her pants.

“He then took her to his apartment and told her to remove her clothes. The man told his victim that he would massage her, but he also touched her private parts and kissed her,” the prosecutors said based on the child’s narration.

Moreover, the defendant is said to have stolen two mobile phones and an amount of BD30 kept inside the car at the time of kidnapping.

The defendant’s case was heard earlier this month before the High Criminal Court, but he was not brought from his cell. Thus, the hearing was adjourned until November 28 to summon him and now to December 14.

The man has been charged with molestation, kidnapping, robbery and hijacking the vehicle. Additionally, the defendant was charged with assaulting a cop and possessing drugs with the intention to use.
