Arab Gulf Security 1 drill commended

ManamaThe Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) interior ministers yesterday held their 35th meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa led Bahrain’s delegation to the session, which was chaired by Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. 

The delegations discussed key issues which focused on strengthening collective security work, protecting stability and preserving achievements and gains. 

Prince Mohammed bin Nayef stressed the importance of the Arab Gulf Security 1, which was held recently in Bahrain, describing the joint drill as symbolising deep awareness of common destiny and mounting challenges. 

Shaikh Rashid outlined the pillars of the joint security drill (Arab Gulf Security 1), which was held recently in Bahrain.

The GCC interior ministers were praised for attending the final drill, which, Shaikh Rashid said, represented a major catalyst to enhance performance. The minister hailed GCC keenness on upgrading collective work and holding more drills between different security agencies. 

He then stressed the issues which featured on the agenda, focusing mainly on the need to bolster security cooperation so as to confront challenges and stave off dangers. 

The Minister invited the GCC interior ministers to attend the 36th meeting, scheduled to be held in Bahrain, which will assume the rotation GCC presidency.
