Smoke at Bahrain airport

ManamaFire fighters were able to successfully keep under control a minor smoke incident  in the Bahrain International Airport yesterday morning. 

According to officials, the incident occurred at the Departure Level where smoke was observed at 3.45am yesterday. Operations have resumed in most
of the affected areas at the airport .

“In line with its role of managing Bahrain International Airport, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the managing body and operator of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), would like to inform the public that there has been a minor incident at the Departure Level where
smoke was observed at
03:45hrs on Wednesday 30th November, 2016 in the
smoking cabin between Boarding Gate Nos. 16 and 17,” BAC said in a statement yesterday

“BAC Rescue and Fire Fighting Services took immediate action in coordination with its partners at the airport and evacuated
the affected gates. The incident did not result in any rescheduling of departing or arriving flights. Most of the affected areas have been opened up for operation again,” it stated. 

Meanwhile, a video has been circulating online showing the Fire Fighting Services officials putting out the smoke.
