Cruise ship season back in the Kingdom
Manama : Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) yesterday announced the return of the Cruise Ship Season, which would continue until early 2017.
The initiative aims to add more value to Bahrain’s tourism offering and develop the local economy especially for artisans.
The season took off with the AZAMARA ship from the Royal Caribbean berthed at the port of Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman in Hidd area with around 700 high-income visitors on board.
The visitors enjoyed a stroll around Bahrain and learned about the culture, the most prominent sites and archaeological heritage, including the old traditional markets.
Bahrain had received a total of 30 marine ships last season.
