Can’t help falling in love with Bahrain

ManamaIt was in 1983, that she first came to Bahrain. And after 30 years, she is still here enjoying her growing affection for the country and its people.

Born in the UK, Gaye Bentham started travelling at an early age. In Greece, she lived for about 12 years.

And what made her move along with this journey is her passion. All these years, she is in a constant pursuit of two passions-  one for photography and another for travelling.

She had also participated in exhibitions at Anamil Gallery, Al Riwaq Art Space, and the InTouch Art Gallery. Her works has been shortlisted three times for National Geographic online assignments.

Here in Bahrain, she is inspired first and foremost by the cultural heritage of Bahrain, and her particular fascination with doors and windows. She has always been attracted by vibrant colours, but more recently has started experimenting with black and white photography.

“I like to create images that evoke emotion and that convey the beauty, mystery and myriad cultures of this amazing world we call home,” said Gaye

“My work continues to evolve; that is the beauty of photography – there is always something new to learn and so many avenues to explore. For me, photography is all about making connections – both for myself with the subject matter, and, through my work, with my audience.”
