‘Job well done’

Manama“This Is Bahrain” team, which successfully projected Bahrain’s real image abroad, was accorded a royal welcome at Al Sakhir Palace yesterday.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa congratulated the organisers and participants for conveying Bahrain’s voice, calling for peace, love and tolerance and projecting its civilisational image as a land that has embraced pluralism and co-existence.

The events, which were held recently in Rome, were organised by the Bahrain Federation of Expatriate Associations (BFEA), with the participation of various government departments, religious institutions and NGOs.

While addressing the audience, King Hamad also thanked the Sapienza University in Rome, Italy’s leading and most prestigious seat of learning, for launching the “King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Chair in Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Co-existence” to boost scientific research in the protecting human rights and respecting religions and cultures.

His Majesty expressed hope that the “Chair” will help promoting the culture of peace and tolerance, as well as shun the evils of extremism, hatred and fanaticism.

Meanwhile, BFEA Secretary-General Betsey Mathieson conveyed the gratitude of Sapienza University for His Majesty’s generous financial donation to assist those affected by the recent earthquakes in Italy.
