Interior Minister holds meeting with Governors

Minister of Interior Lt General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa held a meeting with the four governors yesterday.
The meeting highlighted topics related to governorates’ affairs and reinforcement of cooperation with concerned ministries and organizations to provide better services.
The Interior Minister directed to increase visits to places of worship and interact with their caretakers to nominate volunteers to be registered at security directorates. They would contribute in safeguarding places of worship as they know the residents of their areas.
The selection process will be done along with the governors, and the volunteers will work under the supervision of policemen. They would provide assistance in preventing gatherings in case of any accident. They would also receive training in first aid and civil defence.
Interior Minister said the governor will have the prime responsibility of the site, while police directorates and representatives of the Sunni and Jaffary endowments will coordinate with a follow up unit at each governorate.
He directed to intensify visits to Majalis to learn the requirements of the public to promote the community partnership concept.
He urged governors to calm people down by explaining protection procedures of places of worship to encourage active participation of people in building the future of the nation.
The meeting was attended by General Coordinator of Governorates and Police Media Director.
