Bahraini women on par with men in all fields: HRH Princess
Manama : Bahrain has gone way beyond women’s empowerment stages, affirmed Wife of His Majesty the King and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Chairwoman HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
She was addressing the Bahraini Women’s Day celebrations held yesterday under the theme ‘Women in Legal and Judicial Fields’.
“The accomplishments over the past 15 years since the establishment of the SCW are ascribable after the endorsement of the SCW as one of the pillars of democratic reforms to provide fair and equal opportunity for Bahraini women,” said HRH Princess Sabeeka.
“Bahraini women today are reaping the fruits of this rich process embodied in the countless accomplishments that qualify Bahrain to explicitly announce it has surpassed the stages of empowerment of Bahraini women . Women now stand on equal footing with men in all fields of work and plays an integral part in the comprehensive development and national economic growth.”
Princess Sabeeka explained that the day was a national occasion and a source of pride for the Bahraini people considering the work output throughout the year and their capacity to leave clear imprints in developing and boosting the performance of establishments.
She also expressed gratitude and appreciation to all government, civil society organisations and women’s societies, whose efforts had the greatest effect in achieving aspired goals.
Princess Sabeeka said the presence of Bahraini women in the judicial and justice institutions, and in the law profession induced pride. On the occasion, HRH Princess also congratulated affiliates of the legal and judicial institutions for their achievement that required more serious and hard work.
Princess Sabeeka concluded by expressing pride in Bahrain’s daughters working in all fields who have meritoriously and deservedly assumed leading administrative and political decision-making echelons, stressing the need to maintain countless achievements at the national level.
Leadership extends support
Supreme Council for Youth & Sport Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee President & Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to provide all kinds of support to Bahraini women to boost their skills in various domains. He added that celebrating the Bahraini Women’s Day highlights the Bahraini women’s capability to play an effective role in national growth.
The pioneering role of Bahraini women in the fields of law and justice was asserted by Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa. The Minister also appreciated Bahraini women’s contributions to sustainable development in the legal and judicial fields,
Chairman of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, also voiced pride in the Bahraini women’s distinguished status and influential role in the Bahraini society at all levels.
“Bahraini women have made quantum leaps and attained milestone achievements thanks to the support and interest of the kingdom’s leadership,” he said.
