Bahraini writer Sawsen Al-Shaer receives award

Manama : Bahrain added yet another feather to its cap when media personality and writer Sawsen Al-Shaer was honoured alongside an elite set of 13 Arab women at the second edition of the annual Arab Women Awards at London. 

Al-Shaer was granted the Community Awareness Award in recognition of her efforts to boost social awareness in Bahrain and the Gulf region.

Receiving the award, she expressed her happiness as it also coincided with the Kingdom’s celebrations of the Bahraini Women’s Day. 

She stressed that such achievements were the dividend of the great care and support given to all Bahraini people to stand out and excel. 

 

Minister extends congratulations

Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi congratulated Sawsen Al-Shaer on being granted the Community Awareness Award in London.

The Minister asserted that prestigious award, which coincides with the Kingdom’s celebrations of Bahraini Women’s Day, is a culmination of Al-Shaer’s efforts in the field of Press and Media. 

He added that the honour reflected the value of Bahraini women as an effective partner in Bahrain’s sustainable and comprehensive development.

The Minister also noted that the award was an international acknowledgment of the key role Bahraini media plays in raising awareness of the importance of holding on to national values. 

The event was held under the patronage of the London Mayor, in cooperation with London and Partners foundation and Regent’s University London.
