Shaikh Khalid calls for increased prize money to Festival winners

Manama : Prize money and bonuses for winners of Youth Theatre Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centres and people with disabilities should be increased, according to   Supreme Council for Youth & Sport First Vice Chairman and Bahrain Royal Equestrian & Endurance Federation President HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The directives came in recognition of the major role played by participants in enriching theatre art among youth, especially due to the overwhelming response the festival received from both participants and audience.

He also asserted that the Bahraini youth’s presentation at the festival reflects their great creativity, pointing out that an increase in bonuses and prizes comes as a recognition and encouragement for them.

“Our goal is to continue supporting the Bahraini youth, with the belief that they are the driving engine of the growth and progress of this country,” said Shaikh Khalid.

“Young people have become prominent in various fields, particularly art and theatre, and this reflects the positive energy possessed by them which contributes to the comprehensive development in any field they work in.”

The festival was part of Shaikh Khalid’s cultural initiatives through theatrical events that witness wide participation from Bahraini youth.

The festival’s closing ceremony will be held at the Isa Town Cultural and Sports Hall today and will feature several segments, in addition to award presentation to participants and winners.
