Sami Ghazwan bags the Grand Prize

ManamaSami Ghazwan bagged the Grand Prize of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Championship for showjumping, held yesterday at the Bahrain Defence Force Sports Association grounds in Sakhir. 

Riding on Miss Adhary, Ghazwan made a flawless run to the victory, clocking a total time of 45.02 seconds and finishing behind him was Ali Essa (35.25) on Vivika, but with eight faults and third place on the podium went to Ahmed Mansoor (40.41) riding Edward Du Sud BDF with eight penalties.

Ghazwan (33.29) riding Miss Adhary went to the top of another podium, fending off from 37 riders in the second contest which featured obstacles between 110-125 centimetres. He was followed in second and third place by Ahmed Isa on Loopy and Ahmed Jassim on up Horse Pride respectively. 

Meanwhile, Ahmed Al Bastaki won the third event of the day, featuring obstacles ranging between 95-105 cm. Jockey Ahmed Al Hashili was in top form too and emerged victorious in two events, designed for young jockeys.

The podium winners of the event which featured obstacles with heights ranging between 125-136 cm were crowned by Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the President of the Endurance Committee in the Championship.
