Final countdown starts for Ironman
Manama : The final countdown to the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship has begun with the Organising Committee putting the final touches on the preparations ahead of hosting the event. The championship be held under the patronage Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The event will showcase elite international superstars alongside participants from Bahrain and GCC states. General Manager of the Championship, Ahmed Al Hajj, also a member of the Supreme Organising Committee, revealed that work is ongoing at full swing according to the initial plans made for holding the event amid tremendous efforts from members to give the championship the success it deserves.
Al Hajj hailed the keenness of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, to participate in the practice races, which in turn encouraged Bahraini youths to take part.
