Ironman athletes to arrive in Bahrain
Manama : International athletes are arriving to the Kingdom ahead of the long awaited Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship which is taking place on Saturday under the patronage of Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, has issued instructions to intensify and make the best of preparations in order to host the event in the best possible manner.
Shaikh Nasser stressed upon the importance of promoting Bahrain through this event, and growing interest in this sport at global level and promoting Bahrain’s rich culture and history.
“Bahrain wholeheartedly welcomes champions who will be competing in this event and has become a fertile ground for hosting internationally-acclaimed sporting events,” said Shaikh Nasser, who thanked the organising committee and the Ministry of Information for their tremendous work to make the event a remarkable success.
Shaikh Nasser previewed the Bahraini participants, expressing confidence at their abilities to compete for the top spots.
“We hope to see our Bahraini athletes perform well against a pool of international champions after witnessing great excitement and serious preparations from them for this event,”Shaikh Nasser added.
