Ministry's Quality Management System obtains ISO 9001:2015 certification

Manama : The Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications (MTT) has obtained an ISO 9001:2015 certification.

On this occasion, Transport and Telecommunications Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, has expressed his delight on the ministry's obtaining such certifications. He said the "Ministry has always and will always remain keen on renewal of its ISO certification which reflects our commitment to modern methodologies.'

He reiterated the ministry's constant keenness to maintain application of quality management system that reflects the advancement of services and speedy efficient performance aimed to meet the aspirations of all customers.

The ministry aims to implement a large number of initiatives that contribute in upgrading the transport and telecommunications sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain to boost the excellence and efficiency of all staff and to develop their performance and services, said the minister. He added that the 9001:2015 ISO quality management system has been applied in all ministry directorates that obtained the quality certification to ensure the achievement of highest quality of services being provided. 

The Quality Management System (QMS) is not confined to job performance and the achievement of performance indicators alone but it extends to excellence in achievement and development of quality indices, he said.

The minister in conclusion of his statement expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation of all the staff members at the Quality Management Directorate commending their efforts to achieve the ministry's vision and its objectives and on successfully passing all the standards and requirements to move to the new ISO 9001:2015 standard.

The department obtained the certification on September 1 according to the new system as a result of persistent loyal efforts undertaken by the staff of the ministry each in their respective workstation.
