Sick expat disembarked at Bahrain airport leaves
Manama : An Indian passenger who was disembarked at the Bahrain International Airport due to health complications on Friday, flew home this afternoon.
A V Devarajan was on his way from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia to Mumbai in India but suffered a heart attack while in the Air India Express flight.
The 51 year old, who hails from Kannur in the south Indian state of Kerala, was treated at a Bahrain hospital.
“He left on the 2.45pm direct flight from Bahrain to the airport nearest to his native,” said a social worker.
“Though he had originally booked a flight ticket from Riyadh to Mumbai, Air India Express did not charge anything extra for flying him all the way to the Calicut International Airport which is the airport nearest to his home.
“He is suffering from paralysis and will be taken directly to a hospital to continue treatment.”
