Hill bags Captain’s Day golf
Manama : Steven Hill (36 points on count back) narrowly won the Royal Golf Club’s annual 2016 Captains’ Day Golf Tournament after tying with Keith Watson (36), while Reinhold Lutz (34) won the second division for golfers with handicaps of 10 to 18 with Ahmed Majid (33) a close runner up.
The third category for ladies and those with a handicap of 19 to 28, was won by Iftikhar Butt (30) with Jason Leighton (29) the runner up.
Barry Hobday (30) took first place in the annual Past Captains’ Quaich, which was played in tandem with the Captains’ Day Tournament as seven former club captains battled it out for the illustrious Captains’ Quaich trophy and annual bragging rights.
More than 100 Club members took part in the individual stableford tournament. The Quaich is a traditional Scottish drinking cup symbolizing friendship.
