Monfaredi bags gold for Bahrain
Manama : Ali Monfaredi won gold in the 77kg category, while Sina Monfaradi takes bronze in the 65km category in the First Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship which recently concluded in Turkmenistan.
A total of 22 Asian countries took part in the event which was organised by the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation.
The Assistant secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and general secretary of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar has praised the accomplishment achieved by the national Jiu-Jitsu team.
Askar visited the Bahrain Self-Defence Association (BSA) to receive the champions in the presence of the new president of the BSA, Ahmad Khayyat and BSA vice president Omar Bokmal.
Askar conveyed to the champions congratulations of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the SCYS and President of BOC and to continue the march of victories for Bahraini sports.
