Man jailed for forging documents
Manama : An Arab man accused of fraudulence has been sentenced to five years in prison in absentia. The defendant allegedly deceived BD28,720 from a local bank which he used to buy a luxury car.
He reportedly submitted the bank with documents claiming to be employed by the Works Ministry as an Engineer with a monthly salary of BD1683. The fake documents included copies of an ID card, salary certificate from the ministry, account statement from another local bank (though it was later proved that he was not a client).
However, he is believed to have escaped from the country after possessing the vehicle.
