In love with Bahrain
Manama : “This is Bahrain Celebration” conveys the sincere love of the expatriate communities here to the Kingdom of Bahrain, said His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday in his message addressing the expatriate community.
As deputised by HM the King, the message was delivered by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association.
Shaikh Khalid was participating in the “This is Bahrain” celebration organised by the Bahrain Federation of Expatriate Associations (BFEA) at the National Stadium Car Park, Riffa.
The event was held on the occasion of Bahrain National Day, December 16 and to commemorate the creation of the modern Bahraini state in the era of Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783. The celebration also commemorates the 45th anniversary of Bahrain joining the United Nations and anniversary of HM the King’s Accession to the throne.
HM the King, in his message, thanked the expatriate communities in Bahrain for their significant role in Bahrain’s progress and development.
On the occasion, Shaikh Khalid congratulated Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, stressing that Bahrain is witnessing a development reform in various fields thanks to the vision of HM the King.
Shaikh Khalid also hailed the significant role of BFEA in supporting the Kingdom’s by spreading the true picture of Bahrain’s development and progress before the international community.
For her part, Betsy Mathieson, General Secretary of the Bahrain Federation of Expatriate Associations, said: “The expatriate communities will continue their work for the Kingdom, and contribute in achieving comprehensive development in all fields in the Kingdom.”
Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, Abdulrahman Sadeq Askar, Assistant Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and the Bahrain Olympic Committee Secretary General, Dr. Riyadh Hamza, President of University of Bahrain, several GCC and foreign countries ambassadors and government officials were present.
