Molesting minor: Witnesses to be heard on Jan 9
Manama : The High Criminal Court will hear prosecution witnesses in the case of a child kidnapper, who also faces molestation charges on January 9.
According to the case, the man abducted a five-year-old girl from Hoora when her mother went to buy grocery from a cold store leaving the child in the car.
The man, in his thirties, is said to have hijacked the vehicle with the girl. The defendant was traced by police officers after analysing CCTV cameras. He was arrested later.
As per court files, the accused caressed the private parts of the child as he asked her to take off her clothes under the pretext that he would massage her body.
“He took me to his apartment, and told me to take off my clothes. He told me that he would massage me, but he also touched my private parts and kissed me,” the child told prosecutors.
Meanwhile, the defendant also stole two mobile phones and BD30 that were kept inside the car.
The defendant’s case was heard yesterday before the High Criminal Court, but he wasn’t brought from his cell.
He has been charged with molestation, kidnapping, robbery and hijacking a vehicle. Interestingly, the man was also charged with assaulting a police officer and possessing drugs at the time of his arrest.
