ManamaBahrain-based “Chocolate & Co.” yesterday announced plans to double its per day capacity to two tons, starting early next year.

Production boost, according to the company, will be realised by initiating workers training programmes as well as by modernising machines.

The company, which has a market value of about BD1.5 million, also announced that it aims to increase the number of its showroom as well as franchises.  Chocolate & Co. currently operates in the Arabian Gulf countries as well as in Morocco and India.

Sales manager Mansour Izz Al Din said, “The expansion will be mainly through increased factory space and showrooms in Bahrain, in addition to entering new regional markets.”

On the occasion, the company also confirmed its participation in the Gulfood exhibition in Dubai by the end of next February as part of Bahrain National Pavilion.

“The expo will help explore the expanding horizon of food industry, especially at a time when economic challenges escalate as a result of falling oil prices,” Al Din said.

Chocolate & Co. Company W.L.L. is a premium chocolates and confectionary manufacturing plant based in Bahrain. The company which started production in July 2008 currently has a medium sized production facility in Sanad.
