Gulf Air in data protection deal with Dell

Manama : Gulf Air yesterday announced it has selected Dell EMC’s Data protection solutions to create a highly scalable protection and availability foundation for supporting rapid data growth. 

As per the deal, Dell EMC’s Data Domain and Data Protection Suite solutions will be part of the package  for ensuring advanced data protection and data availability around the clock. 

As an international carrier serving 40 cities in 23 countries across three continents, Gulf Air is driven by huge volumes of user-generated data - further expected to grow by 12 per cent in the next 18 months. 

Gulf Air said it has opted to deploy Dell EMC data protection solution to power the IT transformation of its existing storage infrastructure, reduce related costs, future-proof it with advanced efficiencies and safeguard critical data and processes. This will also facilitate business continuity and growth. 

Continuing its longstanding support of Gulf Air since 2009, Dell EMC will enable the carrier to protect its most critical information assets and enable take a quantum leap forward in data-driven passenger satisfaction – without the burden of additional cost and complexity.
