Bahraini rider triumphs

Manama : Bahraini rider Khalid Hilal Al Khateri triumphed at the Al Ain International Show Jumping Championship in the UAE, which witnessed the participation of many riders representing a host of countries.

Al Khateri (41.13 seconds) topped the podium in the last round of the Championship over heights of 140-145 centimetres without any faults, with UAE rider Nadeya Treem and Saudi Arabian rider Abdulkareem Al Ghubar, in second and third place respectively. Compatriot Ahmed Mansour managed fourth place in a round over 130cms-height obstacles.

On the occasion, Al Khateri expressed his joy at his victory stating that this triumph is to be added to Bahrain’s wide-ranging accomplishments in the sport of show-jumping, thanks to the direct support of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. 

“I am very proud of what I have achieved and this is the fruit of my continued and constant training. Competition was very tough due to the participation of many experienced riders, but thankfully the victory was mine eventually,” he added.
