BIC to host Open Track Day

ManamaBahrain International Circuit (BIC), in Sakhir will host an Open Track Day for Cars and Bikes, along with a pair of thrilling passenger rides on Saturday.

This is one of the most popular activities and allows participants to drive their cars or motorbikes along BIC’s 5.412-kilometre Grand Prix track.

Also available will be passenger rides in a Clio Cup race car or a Radical SR3 prototype, with action from 12noon to 7pm.

Those interested in taking part can choose between driving for a full day, a half day or a single 30-minute drive package. Friends or family members can also accompany participants and be part of the action.

In the Clio Cup and SR3 passenger rides, the Clio Cup ride gives fans a look into the racing capabilities of one of the world’s most popular sports cars.

The Renault-manufactured Clio Cup features a 1.6-litre Turbocharged engine. It can generate up to 220bhp and 6,000rpm, and it has a paddle shift racing gearbox and an FIA-specification roll cage and seats. A passenger ride comprises a single three-lap session of around 40 minutes and the Radical SR3 passenger ride will be conducted alongside one of BIC’s expert driving instructors.

A Radical SR3 boasts an RPE-Suzuki Generation 1,340 DOHC engine. It can go from zero to 100kmh in 3.4 seconds, and also has a six-speed sequential gearbox and paddle gearshift system.
