Top fashion designer to visit Bahrain
Manama : On the sidelines of ‘So French’ Week , Christian Louboutin, one of the world’s leading fashion designers, will be visiting the Kingdom next month, according to French Ambassador Bernard Regnauld-Fabre.
“We are looking forward to welcome Louboutin for the fourth edition of French Week, which will take place in January 2017. Christian Louboutin is a celebrated designer, not only in Bahrain, but worldwide,” he said.
“The aim of ‘So French’ Week is to embrace the many aspects of French culture and the fashion industry falls firmly into this. French fashion, craftsmanship and design are world-renowned. The fashion industry in France is worth 34 billion Euros and there are dozens of French fashion brands in Bahrain alone.”
Louboutin launched his eponymous brand in 1992, opening his first boutique in Paris that year. An artist and a craftsman with a passion for shoes, his designs are unique and instantly recognisable due to their signature red lacquered soles. Since the brand’s launch nearly 25 years ago.
Louboutin’s collection now includes women and men’s shoes, handbags, small leather goods, perfume and more recently beauty products. With more than 100 boutiques globally, the French designer is acclaimed worldwide.
A gala dinner will be hosted in the designers honour, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on the 20th January. Louboutin will also be making a special appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue on the 21st January.
A limited number of tickets will go on sale for the gala dinner next week
The dates for So French week have been set for the 18th to 23rd January 2017, under the patronage of Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
A week long activities and events related to technology, lifestyle, tourism and infrastructure is planned in the Kingdom as a part of the ‘So French’ week.
