Ex-CEO fined for insulting BCCI board member
Manama : Ex Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) CEO has been fined BD50 for insulting BCCI Board member Ahmed bin Hindi in a WhatsApp message.
A case was registerd after bin Hindi reported the insult to police. EventhoughNabeel Al Mahmood apologised and stated that the message was sent by mistake, Bin Hindi rejected it and the case went on before the court.
The plaintiff demanded BD10,000 in compensation for the insult.
The High Criminal Appeals Court referred the trial to a civil court to decide on the compensation after upholding the BD50 fine sentence which was initially issued by the Lower Criminal Court.
