Murdering Man; Life Sentence of woman reduced
Manama : A 31-year-old Bahraini woman, accused of killing her boyfriend has had her initial life sentence cut to 15 years on appeal.
According to court files, the woman murdered the her 57-year-old boyfriend, a Bahraini, following a brawl in his apartment. The man, who met the woman over phone promised to get her a new job.
“We would drink beer in every time we meet in his apartment. We were also going to coffee shops, and whenever we return to his apartment in Riffa we had sex,” the defendant said.
On the day of the incident, the man was drunk and asked the woman to sleep with him. However the woman refused, leading to a fight between the two. The victim reportedly denied her from leaving the apartment.
“I was insisting him to marry me, but he always refused. On the day of the incident, he was drunk. He asked me to have sex but I wanted to leave,” the woman said.
The woman is said to have killed the victim by breaking his neck. Her crime came to light after she told another man about the incident who later filed a complaint against her.
