Adultery; Divorced woman gets prison
Manama : The Lower Criminal Court has sentenced a 21-year-old man and a 23-year-old girl to two years in prison on charges of adultery.
The duo are said to have met each other through Instagram. The woman reportedly got pregnant after the two slept together. However it was later revealed that she was married to another man, aged 23.
The case was reported to the police by the girl’s divorcee.
“I decided to divorce her because she spent most of her time outside our home. After few months of our divorce, I called her back, but she told me that she was on fourth month of pregnancy following a sexual relationship with another man,” he told prosecutors.
The girl confirmed her ex-husband’s claims before prosecutors.
“When I told him I was pregnant, he (the first defendant) began averting me,” she revealed. But the first defendant said that he was not aware that the woman was married at the time they were in a relationship.
