New born found abandoned
Manama : An expatriate lady has saved a newborn baby found abandoned by its parents in a waste dump at Jidhafs yesterday.
The baby was found abandoned on Wednesday morning in an area where the local residents dump waste.
According to residents, a feeble cry of the child was heard by a passer-by who passed the information to other residents in the area.
Neethu Joseph, who works as a staff nurse at Bahrain Specialist Hospital, took the baby found abandoned in a plastic bag in the waste dump and gave primary care. The newborn was covered in an empty diaper cover along with blood and placenta which was put in a plastic bag.
The baby is now recovering in Salmaniya Medical Complex.
Sources at the residential complex said that the baby belongs to an Indian couple who already have two children.
According to sources, family issues led to the heinous crime of abandoning the child by the parents.
The ailing mother of the baby is presently admitted to Salmaniya Medical Centre. DT News has learnt that the CCTV clips have given clue about the culprits. Interior Ministry has confirmed the incident and the investigation is going on.
Seeing the pathetic condition of the baby some people have evinced interest in adopting the baby.
