Charity sale for a cause
Manama : A plethora of vegetables, harvested by a group of children will be for sale in the stall supported by the Rotary Club of Sulmaniya (RCS) in the fifth edition of Bahrain Farmer’s Market at the Budaiya Gardens tomorrow during a charity sale to benefit special needs children.
The vegetables to be put up for sale tomorrow are the results of the hardwork of a group of children with Down Syndrome, who were involved in planting and watering of the seeds in a local farm in Jasra. Tomorrow will be their fourth and final week of participation in the sale. The humanitarian initiative is part of the Rotary Club’s Green House Project. Around 50 children from three different societies had taken part in this year’s plantation.
‘The Rotary Club of Sulmaniya is proud to be associated with such a project, which brings together educational and social activities under one place, allowing kids with special needs to experience the planting and later on the harvesting of vegetables. It is one of many projects that we are doing this year involving many members of our group, said Amira Ismael who is senior Manager, Head of Merchant Services and Sales at Credi Max.
