Mosque opened for public

Manama : The late Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa mosque was  officially inaugurated by  Chairman of the Isa Bin Salman Charity Educational Fund Board of Trustees, Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in Diyar Al Muharraq yesterday. 

In his speech, Shaikh Isa expressed his gratitude towards Diyar Al Muharraq’s Board of Directors for developing the mosque in the name of the late Amir Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, “a name associated with Bahrain’s modernisation and development, and cherished across the Kingdom”. 

“The unique features of the mosque and its beautiful Islamic architecture reflects Bahrain’s proud national identity and heritage noting the Kingdom’s continued commitment to architectural excellence.” 

Shaikh Isa also noted HM King Hamad’s ongoing commitment to building religious places of worship, upholding the tolerant principles and teachings of Islam.

Located within the heart of Diyar Al Muharraq, the 19,238 m sq. late Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa Mosque features uniquely
engineered designs inspired by Arab-Islamic architecture, including a dome decorated with artistic designs and lights, and a 45-metre tall minaret. The mosque can accommodate over 1,000 worshipers, and is located near the main entrance of the master-planned city, providing easy access for worshipers from Diyar Al Muharraq and neighbouring areas.

Modern community centres offering classes in Quranic teachings and Islamic studies as well as an events hall are also located near the mosque.
