Al Basta returns
Manama : Al Basta Market, one of the biggest shopping festivals in Bahrain has opened doors at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The event, which is in its fifth edition aims to support Bahraini entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises as well as farmers.
The market in its previous editions enjoyed overwhelming success with the project expanding over the years to accommodate several hundreds of participants including individuals, institutions and productive families.
One of the main attractions of this year’s market is the family focused recreational activities as well as the children game area.
Organised by the Southern Governorate, the market, an annual event, showcases local and homemade products. Products on display include handmade bags, clothes, scale models of houses, traditional souvenirs, food and many more.
The Al Basta market, which acts as platform for local producers to explore business opportunities also provides an opportunity to educate the customers about the sustainability of recycled products and importance of environment friendly organic products.
The event supported by Tamkeen and a number of public and private sector institutions will continue on a weekly basis on all Fridays and Saturdays until February 11, 2017. Doors open from 3pm to 9pm. In pictures, the market.
