‘Taskforce 8’ heroes honoured

ManamaIn recognition of their dedicated service in Yemen, the members of the Royal Guards Special Operations Force (Taskforce 8) were presented with medals by Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Prince Khalifa stressed  the important role BDF forces play in ‘Operation Renewal of Hope’, as part of the Saudi-led coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen, noting their honourable service and the forces’ role in assisting humanitarian efforts.

The BDF’s sacrifices for the security of Bahrain was praised as the Crown Prince yesterday visited the Royal Guards Headquarters and honoured the soldiers who recently returned from the battlegrounds from Yemen.

His Royal Highness was received by the Royal Guards Commander, Brigadier HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Guards Special Forces Commander, Major HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and senior officers.

Minister of Defence Affairs, Lieutenant General Yousif bin Ahmed Al Jalahma, Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqer Al Noaimi and a number of senior officers
also attended the ceremony.
