Coastguard maritime drill to start today
Manama : Coast Guard Commander Brigadier, Alaa Siyadi announced the commencement of the annual maritime exercise on today in the north and west areas of Bahrain.
The exercise is part of plans and programmes to enhance competency and readiness, especially in search and rescue operations that represent the main factors in coast guard operations.
He said that the two-day exercise will be held in association with a number of the Interior Ministry’s directorates to enhance the training capabilities and efforts to develop skills in according to scientific approach.
He said that the exercise is part of the training programme that is considered as the main foundation for development and modernization, noting goals could be achieved through manpower competency.
He called upon seafarers to cooperate with the Coast Guard and follow instructions related to the exercise’s location and timings.
He said that the Coast Guard is among security authorities that the Interior Ministry is dedicated to develop through equipping them with high-tech systems and training. He said that the role of the coast guard personnel is to create round the clock secure maritime environment.
