Air Passengers express discontent on Twitter

ManamaHundreds of passengers were stranded in different airports in the GCC countries as flights were cancelled or diverted to other destinations.

Many of those stranded expressed their discontent over Twitter.

One passenger from Bahrain, Noor Al Tareif  ended up buying her own ticket to Bahrain after her flight was re routed to Kuwait.

Her  Turkish Airlines flight circled around Bahrain at around 1am  and as the flight could not land due to heavy fog it was diverted to Kuwait.  “Got to Kuwait and they said passengers can either get off in Kuwait or stay on and go back to Istanbul where we just came from. Turkish Airlines appallingly refused to get us on flights back to Bahrain.
After 5 hours of arguing I gave up and had to exit departures, collect my luggage, buy my own ticket to Bahrain,” she tweeted.

Gulf Air promptly apologized for the inconvenience: “Due to inclement weather conditions and low visibility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Gulf Air can confirm that a number of flights inbound into Bahrain have been diverted and flights departing from Bahrain have been delayed until further notice. The airline’s regular flight schedule is tentatively scheduled to resume at 0700 local time today when weather conditions are expected to improve.”Gulf Air apologised for any inconvenience to passengers and has asked its passengers to check gulfair.com or call +973 17373737 for updates.
