Bahrain’s Foreign Minister rediscovers his nanny

Manama: Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa who is on a private visit to India, travelled all the way to Mangalore from Trivandrum to meet the nanny who took care of him in Bahrain when he was a small child. Shaikh Khalid has posted a photo now on his Instagram account with the following comment: ‘ With my nanny who looked after me as her son since my childhood; Mama Carmine Mathias, at her home in Manglore, Karnataka. She came to Bahrain when she was 35 years old in January 1959. Now she is 93. She looked after my late brother Abdalla, myself and my two younger sisters Maie and Lulwa. She gave us the best of her love and care.  We cherish every moment in our life with her. May God bless her soul and give her good health and longevity.’

A few days ago Shaikh Khalid had visited Layla a poor house help who served him 21 years , at her native place in Kollam. The minister posted on Instagram a photo captioning   of him with the poor woman. “Today we visited Layla. Who shared her life with us in Bahrain for 21 years with love, honesty and loyalty.. In her house in Kollam Kerala, India”

Shaikh Khalid’s heart-felt messages on Instagram are going viral on the social media platform, as the users are all praise for him.
