All set to celebrate Rizal Day in Bahrain
Manama: All is set for the celebration of Rizal Day by the Filipino community in Bahrain tomorrow.
Rizal Day marks the 120th death anniversary of Philippine National Hero Dr Jose P Rizal.
Commemoration of the martyrdom of Dr Jose P Rizal and medical mission will be held tomorrow at the Philippines Embassy grounds in Bahrain from 7am to 1pm.
The programme is organized by the Order of the Knights of Rizal(OKOR) Bahrain chapter in association with the embassy.
The theme of the programme is: Dr Jose P Rizal: Epitome of sublime sacrifice and absolute dedication to the Filipino people.
The programme will start with the flag raising ceremony in the morning .
Philippine Ambasdor Alfonso A Ver will give the inspirational message.
There will be wreath-laying rites in front of a portrait of Rizal, the invocation and the singing of the national anthems.
Master of the ceremony will be Emmanuel Morales. Rizal Day is celebrated every December 30, the anniversary of Rizal's 1896 execution at Bagumbayan (present-day Rizal Park) in Manila.
